William Breeze
William Breeze is a Thelemite, a follower of MI6 occultist Aleister Crowley, who succeeded Grady McMurtry (succesor of Kenneth Grant) as head of the Ordo Templi Orientis. His father was a colonel in the US Army. He stayed at Fort Meade (CIA remote viewing project), Nellis Air Force Base, Fort Bragg ('Project Jedi') and Montauk Air Force Station (Montauk Project hoax). He published Aleister Crowley's Magical and Philosophical Commentaries on the Book of the Law and wrote the introduction of Crowley's edition of the Goetia grimmoire. In 1983 he founded the Phoenix Lodge in Montreal. He became head of the OTO in 1985 and Patriarch of the Gnostic Catholic Church. He revived Crowley's A.A.. He worked with Marjorie Cameron, Sara Northtrup Hollister's sister Helen Parsons and with Richard Kaczynski and Tobias Churton who wrote biographies of Crowley. He was educated at Harvard. | ![]() |
As a musician he worked with Coil, Current 93, Psychic TV (transgender Genesis P-Orridge) and Angus MacLise who founded the Velvet Underground with Lou Reed and Andy Warhol. MacLise worked on a film script of Crowley's Diary of a Drug Fiend and married in a wedding ceremony in San Francisco with CIA agent Timothy Leary.
The James Holmes Phoenix ritual contained OTO symbolism.
He participated in a LA Museum of Contemporary Art exhibition of Cameron's work. He worked with the 80WSE gallery in NY.
