Robert Fludd
Robert Fludd was a British alchemist, astrologer, Kabbalist and rosicrucian (era of Michael Maier and Thomas Vaughan). His father was treasurer of war of Elizabeth I, controlled by the Cecils, who also worked with rosicrucian John Dee (role of Mercury the Magician in the rosicrucian wedding of Frederick V and Elizabeth Stuart). He was educated at Oxford and by the jesuits. He studied medicine, chemistry and the Hermeticism of Paracelsus and the Corpus Hermeticum translated by Medici agent Marsilio Ficino. |
He was a friend of Johannes Kepler (educated at the University of Tübingen , place where Rosicrucian manifesto's would be published).
Fludd, Kepler, Michael Meier and John Dee worked with Rudolf II Habsburg and the Rosenbergs.
He defended the rosicrucians against accusations of Andreas Libavius, Patrick Scot (work on the philosopher's stone, tutor of Charles I Stuart) and jesuit Marin Mersenne (through work Summum Bonum).
In 1617 he wrote The metaphysical, physical and technical history of the two worlds (art of memory).
After his death, his books on geomancy (divinations through markings on the ground) were published.
Pierre Plantard named Fludd as a grandmaster in his Priory of Sion hoax.
