Palladium

Palladium is a chemical element with symbol Pd and atomic number 46, between rhodium and silver. It is a paramagnetic silvery white transition metal. It was discovered by William Hyde Wollaston (president of Royal Society), who also discovered osmium and rhodium. Like platinum, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium it is part of the platinum group. Pallas is an epiteth of Athena. Most palladium is produced by Russian company Nornickel and Anglo American Platinum.
