John Locke
John Locke was a British philosopher and freemason, trained by the jesuits to play a role in the European Enlightenment trend (new style of slavery) with Voltaire, René Descartes and David Hume. He wrote A Letter Concerning Toleration, Two Treatises of Government, An Essay Concerning Human Understanding. His euphemisms 'liberty', 'liberalism' and 'social contract' were used by politicians like Thomas Jefferson. |
His patron Anthony Ashley Cooper founded the Whig Party (start of political puppet show of Left Wing and Right Wing politicians).
He introduced the concept of the mind as a blank slate (tabula rasa). His theory of association became influential in psychology.
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz wrote a rebuttal of Locke's An Essay Concerning Human Understanding.
He reviewed The Christian Virtuoso of Robert Boyle and studied his coded manuscripts about alchemy.
He spent time in the Netherlands. After the Glorious Revolution of William III, he returned to Britain and met with John Dryden and Isaac Newton (also Royal Society).
A lot of his manuscripts were bought by Paul Mellon.
In ABC series Lost Terry O'Quinn played a character named John Locke.
