Horus

Horus was a mythological god in Ancient Egyptian mythology, derived from the Aryan solar god Harya, with the head of a hawk, seen as the son of Osiris (identified with Orion) and Isis (identified with Sirius). Osiris was a Dying God, God of the Underworld with 42 judges (24 nr of Jupiter). In myths he was raped and his eye was taken by Set. During spring he was reborn as his rising son Horus on the horizon, who avenges his father by killing Set (Saturn).

The pineal gland (one eye symbolism) was seen as the Eye of Horus. Apart from the sun, he was also associated with Mars.

In Greece the sun god was Apollo and Set became Typhon.

From 1904 Aleister Crowley became the prophet of the Aeon of Horus (the child).

Howard Hughes, Adolf Hitler, Wernher von Braun, Jack Parsons played the archetype of Horus.

Project Bluebird referred to the blue bird Horus.

Pop stars play the role of the child Horus.

Gerard Butler played Set in Gods of Egypt with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Horus.
