Harry Houdini (Eric Weisz) was a jewish Hungarian escape artist, who lived in Laurel Canyon and worked with HP Lovecraft and Orson Welles, used in the media industry and Hollywood film industry to play the role of Horus in Crowley's Aeon of Horus, in which the death and rebirth of Jesus Christ (the Hanged Man) becomes a stage trick of the Magician. He was a member of masonic St Cecile Lodge in NY. He performed with his brother Theo Hardeen at Coney Island and married Wilhelmina Beatrice Rahner in 1894. |

He was named after Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin (Marvelous Orange Tree trick). His teacher was Joseph Rinn (American Society for Psychical Research, Society for American Magicians). Houdini was a friend of jesuit trained British Intelligence agent AC Doyle (SPR, HOGD with Crowley), magician Harry Kellar (decapitation trick) and CIA agent John Mulholland. He taught stage magic to Orson Welles.
Theo Hardeen played in Broadway musical Hellzapoppin' of comedy Olsen and Johnson.
His agent Martin Beck founded the Orpheum Circuit (Orpheic mysteries), which later merged with RCA of Joe Kennedy and David Sarnoff to become Radio-Keith-Orpheum Pictures, led by Howard Hughes.
His British agent Harry Day let Houdini perform at Scotland Yard for William Melville. He performed at the Alhambra theatre in London. His theatrical stunts and performances were experiments in manipulation through mass media like Daily Mirror of the brother Harmsworth (propaganda office Wellington House).
In 1912 he performed the Chinese Water Torture Cell trick (the Hanged Man, mem: water) in Berlin Germany.
From 1915 he performed the Buried Alive stunt. From 1919 he moved to a house in Laurel Canyon.
He played in The Grim Game (filmed at Lookout Mountain of CIA in Laurel Canyon) and Terror Island of Paramount Pictures.
He died on Halloween in the Houdini House, known for a murder on Halloween 8 years earlier.
In 1991 David Copperfield bought his estate and memorabilia.
