H.P. Lovecraft

Howard Philips Lovecraft was a science fiction author and propaganda writer. His work became influential in Kenneth Grant's Ordo Templi Orientis and Anton LaVey's Church of Satan. He was influenced by Edgar Allan Poe and influenced the Manaña Literary Society with occultists and science fiction writers Robert Heinlein, Ron Hubbard (Church of Scientology), Leigh Brackett and Jack Parsons, head of the OTO Agape Lodge in Pasadena California. He lived in Providence, Rhode Island.

He moved to NY and married Sonia Greene in 1924. She was jewish and published The Rainbow (Wizard of Oz programming).

He published in Argosy of Frank Munsey (sold The Washington Times to Hearst, campaign of Theodore Roosevelt) and Weird Fiction (The Call of Ctulhos). Argosy also published Upton Sinclair (Intercollegiate Socialist Society with propaganda specialist Walter Lippmann) and Robert Ervin Howard (Conan the Barbarian, inspired by themes of lost Hyperborean civilization of Theosophical Society). He influenced Clark Ashton Smith.

He was a friend of Robert Bloch, who also published in Weird Tales with stories about black magic and demonic possession and later wrote the script of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (Multiple Personality Disorder, based on clown Ed Gein). Bloch was a friend of Raymond Palmer (Amazing Stories, mythology of extraterrestials with Kenneth Arnold). He wrote Torture Garden (based on work of Edgar Allan Poe) and the book adaptation of Twilight Zone: The Movie of Steven Spielberg and for NBC show Thriller with John Carradine (OTO) and Mary Astor (TS).

Weird Tales also published Robert E Howard and Leigh Brackett's husband Edmund Hamilton.

Other members of the Lovecraft circle of friends were Frank Belknap, Long, Henry Kuttner and Fritz Leiber (Alcoholics Anonymous). He also worked with Harry Houdini (Laurel Canyon).

The decline of western civilization, threatened by external, foreign elements is a theme in his work (used in fear programming of the Right Wing Church).

Like other occultists and science fiction writers he 'channeled' his writings through contacting Fallen Angels.

In The Hound he mentions a grimoire called Necronomicon or Book of the Dead (book of the laws of the dead= Aleister Crowley's Book of the Law), which describes a pantheon of gods, called the Old Ones.

In 1954 Karl Germer (Ordo Templi Orientis) moved to California. Kenneth Grant founded the New Isis Lodge, mixed Crowley's Thelema with mythology of extraterrestials and the works of Lovecraft (imagination and image-making faculty as most important in magic, used in the Hollywood programming of subconscious).
