C.E.M. Joad

Cyril Edwin Mitchinson Joad was a British propaganda writer of the Fabian Society, used by MI6 to play the role anti-war activist with Bertrand Russell during WW1, while Fabians like HG Wells made war propaganda for Wellington House. He worked for the Ministry of Labour and later the University of London. He lived near Fabian Beatrice Webb. He was educated at the Dragon School (JBS Haldane, Alain de Botton, Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Emma Watson) and Baloil College Oxford.

He was a member of The Ghost Club with Julian Huxley (United Nations), Arthur Koestler, Dennis Wheatley and members of the HOGD (AC Doyle, WB Yeats, Algernon Blackwood).

He was a member of the Peace Pledge Union with Bertrand Russell, Aldous Huxley, Storm Jameson (introduction to The Diary of Anne Frank), Donald Soper (LSE), Gerald Heard, George Lansbury (grandfather of Angela Lansbury). The PPU was launched through a publicity stunt in The Guardian.

In 1931 he became Director of Propaganda of Fabian Oswald Mosley's New Party (with John Strachey of the Left Book Club). The New Party later became the British Union of Fascists.

In 1932 he became a member of the Progressive League of Fabian HG Wells with Bertrand Russell, Aldous Huxley, Cecil agent Cyril Burt (Tavistock), Barbara Wooton (British Sociological Association), Kingsley Martin (The New Statesman of Fabian Society).

His King and Country debate was promoted by the Student League for Industrial Democracy of Walter Lippmann (propaganda office with Edward Bernays).

He helped announcing the fake Nuremberg trial through an open letter in the British press with George Orwell, Arthur Koestler (CCF), HG Wells (Fabian Society), which cited the Dewey Commission.

He worked for The Brain Trust of BBC Radio with Bertrand Russell, Julian Huxley, Aldous Huxley, Violet Bonham Carter (friend of Winston Churchill), Marghanita Laski (niece of Fabian Harold Laski),..
