His wife Rita Marley was backing vocalist of Marley and the Wailers. He worked with Lee Scratch Perry.
He was promoted in the US by performing at the Roxy Club of Lou Adler. The 7y old Naomi Campbell was used in the music video of Is This Love?.
In 1978 he participated in the One Love Peace Concert publicity stunt with Michael Manley and Edward Seaga.
He promoted the Punk Rock movement with song Punky Reggae Party. Rita Marley sang on the reggae album Aux Armes Etcetera of Serge Gainsbourg. Eric Clapton promoted Marley by covering I Shot the Sherrif.
He died age 36 like Diana in 1981, year of Diana's wedding with Charles.
His sons Stephen and Ziggy Marley are trained by the jesuits. Ziggy married the vice-president of William Morris Agency. Stephen Marley produced a Bob Marley remix album with Erykah Baduh, Busta Rhymes, Steven Tyler, Chuck D and The Roots. Damian Marley is the son of Marley and Cindy Breakspeare and collaborated with Nas. Rohan Marley married Lauryn Hill (program Hip Hop). Their daughter Selah Marley posed for Harper's Bazaar. Ky-Mani Marley played in movie One Love.
His daughter Cedella Marley played in The Mighty Quinn (1989) with jesuit Denzel Washington and Sheryl Lee Ralph (Delta Sigma Theta), Joey Breaker (1993) with Philip Seymour Hoffman and contributed a song to the Disney Reggae Party compilation. She designed the uniforms of the Jamaican Olympian team (Usain Bolt) during the 2012 Summer Olympics, in collaboration with Puma.
