Baphomet is a symbol of Saturn, which rules Capricorn the horned goat (Pan, the Devil card), worshipped by the satanic Saturn cult (Knights Templar, jesuits, freemasons), usually associated with the famous drawing in Dogma and Ritual of High Magic of French Roman Catholic priest and occultist Eliphas Lévi, published in 1854 and 1856. It contained 22 chapters, like the 22 cards of the Tarot.

The Egyptians worshipped the Goat of Mendes. The Baphomet figure makes the Hermetic sign of As Above So Below, with two fingers pointing upwards to a white moon, two fingers pointing downwards to a black moon. The crescent moon and star symbol is also used in Islam.

The As Above So Below pose was used to depict Sumerian god Pazazu,  Baphomet figure on the Notre Dame cathedral, for official portraits of by members of the House of Hanover, George Washington, the Magician card...

An androgynous figure that represents the unity of opposites, the end goal of the alchemical marriage is depicted on the Art card.

Levi was a friend of Flora Tristan (socialism, the Feminist Church), Fabre Dolivet, Jozef Maria Hoene-Wronsky and Papus. He played a role in the Pluto in Taurus era (transformation of religion, era of Darwinism). His wife had a relationship with architect Hector Lefeul and later married Maurice Rouvier, Minister and Finance and pm of France from 1905. He died in the year of birth of occultist Aleister Crowley.

Arthur Edward Waite, member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn with Crowley, translated Dogma et Rituel de la Haute Magie into English. Simon Ganneau depicted himself as an androgynous Baphomet figure.

The picture of Baphomet was used by the Process Church of Last Judgement (affiliated with Scientology and Charles Manson) and in a scene with Mia Farrow in Roman Polanski's Antichrist movie Rosemary's Baby and became a trope in pop culture (Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, music videos in program Hip Hop, black metal,  transgender agenda) and Hollywood movies.
